Knysna & Buffalo Bay & Sedgefield
Situated at the centre of the Garden route, Knysna is rated the 2nd most popular town in South Africa and in the top 100 towns to visit in the world. It was established in the early 1800’s and is now a haven for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Visit the Knysna Heads, renowned for its spectacular sandstone rock faces which stand over a hundred metres above the entrance to the lagoon. On the lagoon you can take a boat ride, do some canoeing, skiing and fishing. Or take a stroll in the Featherbed Nature reserve, home of the exclusive Knysna Loerie and sanctuary to plant life and animals, including a small breed of sea horse. Otherwise, a trip to the Knysna Elephant Park is bound to keep you busy as you will have the opportunity to interact, feed and even ride some of these magnificent creatures. Knysna is also home to RSA’s largest Rastafarian community, where you can spend the day amongst them, enjoy a cultural lesson and be at one with the forest, its people and all she has to offer.
