Plettenberg Bay & The Crags
A small but popular holiday destination, ‘Plett,’ as known by the locals and originally called “Bahia Formosa” (beautiful bay) by early Portuguese explorers, is most famous for its long stretches of snow white beaches and warm water flowing from the Indian Ocean. These warmer waters give you the opportunity for a rare and powerful experience as you go on an ocean safari and track Whales, brave encounters with killer whales and race with dolphins all the while being lead by knowledgeable and qualified skippers and tour guides. Another way to capture this incredible peninsula is from a bird’s eye view as you experience the rush of 35 seconds of freefall over one of the most beautiful skydive drop zones in the world. Just outside Plettenberg Bay, in The Crags, you will find an array of wildlife sanctuaries where the forests come to life with monkeys, birds and wildcats. At night, Plett is alive with many fine restaurants, cafés and other eateries as well as bars and stylish cocktail lounges to relax in and enjoy sundowners and some drinks while making new friends and sharing stories.
